About

Hi, I’m Natashia Janai and I am more than my roles.

I’m an introvert who loves people, a wife who still believes in inside jokes, a mom of three, and an assistant principal who cares deeply about kids, teachers, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen. I’m also a storyteller, a believer who wrestles honestly with faith, and the creative heart behind NOTES from Natashia and the NOURISH framework—life-giving tools designed to help you live with more intention and less guilt.

My Roots

I’m a proud Louisiana native, raised in the quiet rhythms of the countryside. Growing up an only child, I spent much of my childhood in solitude, but those quiet moments became the foundation of my strength and my deep belief in the power of reflection. They’ve carried me through motherhood, marriage, leadership, and legacy-building.

My Journey

Life for me isn’t perfect but it’s purposeful. With four college degrees, long days inside school walls, and even longer nights cheering from bleachers at track meets, basketball games, and volleyball matches, I know what it feels like to give until there’s barely anything left.

That’s why I created space for women like me; women who pour endlessly but rarely pause. NOTES from Natashia started as love letters to myself and evolved into a place for anyone craving balance, encouragement, and a reminder that you are more than the roles you play.

What I Believe

I believe in lifting as I climb. Through my service with organizations like Jack and Jill of America and The Junior League, I’ve seen how community changes lives. One day, I hope to become a full-time philanthropist, funding initiatives that empower families, nurture youth, and amplify women’s voices.

Whether I’m guiding teens toward their futures, nurturing my marriage, or creating digital sanctuaries of rest and reflection, I lead with heart, humor, and hope.

This Space Is For You

If your life looks like a color-coded circus—school drop-offs, late-night laundry, sports tournaments, group texts blowing up your phone—and somewhere in there you’ve forgotten the last time you did something just for you… I see you.

Here, you’ll find:
✨ Self-care that actually fits your life (even if it’s just 10 quiet minutes & a hydrating sheet mask)
✨ Marriage reminders that love takes work and laughter helps
✨ Family-first routines and simple tips to bring calm to the chaos
✨ Encouragement to show up as your whole self, not just your titles

Because you don’t need to do more. You just need space to focus on what truly matters.

Why I Write

Here, I write like I talk: direct, warm, and without pretending I have endless capacity. You’ll find reflections on faith, leadership, family, and legacy-building, plus resources like devotionals, card decks, digital tools, and community-centered projects (like Soul of the South Sports)—because building legacy matters to me, both on and off the court.

Pull up a chair. The porch light’s still on.

If you’ve been craving a place to feel seen, supported, and inspired to live fully (without burning out), you’re in the right place.

Let’s make room for the moments that last.
Ready to nourish your life one meaningful moment at a time? Welcome home..

I thought…used to think… if life wasn’t loud, it w I thought…used to think… if life wasn’t loud, it wasn’t really happening. If I wasn’t busy, planning something, running to the next thing… then I must be behind somehow. But lately?
It’s the quiet parts that stick with me. Slow mornings. Regular days. And I don’t want to keep speeding through the life I once prayed for, just trying to get to whatever’s next on the list. So I’m letting things be simple right now. And yeah… I’m actually enjoying it more than I thought I would. Please tell me I’m not the only one still learning how to slow down without feeling bad about it.

Just me… walking down a hallway that probably looks like a thousand other school hallways across the country. Walking books into a school library. Sitting with fellow educators. Making sure students have access to something that might change the way they see the world. Through @soulofthesouthsports, we talk a lot about scholarships and opportunity for student-athletes. But the truth is…those opportunities start long before a college coach ever calls. They start with access. Books. Learning. Curiosity. And if you’re another woman out there balancing work, family, and the million responsibilities we carry… just know this: The quiet work you do matters too. Sometimes more than you realize. #CommunityLeadership

As moms, wives, and women with careers, most of ou As moms, wives, and women with careers, most of our days are already full before the sun even comes up. School schedules. Work meetings. Dinner. Laundry. Trying to remember if anyone signed the permission slip. So when we choose to do one more thing for someone else… it usually means it mattered to us. For me, that “one more thing” was putting together a backpack full of books for a middle school library. Because before scholarships…before recruitment…
before opportunities open up…kids have to have access to books. And this is a small part of what I’ve been building through @soulofthesouthsports — making sure students have access to education, opportunity, and resources long before anyone is watching them play in a sport. It’s not glamorous work. But it’s MEANINGFUL work. And sometimes that work starts in your living room floor…packing a backpack. #CommunityImpact

Spring is my favorite season, but today felt like Spring is my favorite season, but today felt like spring in the middle of winter. And it reminded me how you can feel one way inside, even when things look different on the outside. I was just standing here waiting on my dog, watching this plant move in the wind, and all I could think was…I do that too. Going back and forth when I’m making decisions. Some choices are easy. Some take time. But either way, I know God is still choosing me, even while I’m figuring it out.
